Abstract

Dealing with the historiography of left-wing political parties in Argentina and their evolution between 1955 and 1976 implies immersing oneself in the dense and heterogeneous mass of bibliographical production. A historiographic space that condenses official and critical histories; the fecundity and magnetism of the studies on the violence of the 70s and the armed struggle; the investigations on the new left of the 60s and the approaches on the relationship between the parties of the left and their insertion in the labor and student movement, but that is marked by the lack of general, complete and comprehensive histories in spatial and temporal terms.

This article, which is a brief summary of a research in progress, aims to make a tentative tour of the main problems, lines of action and positions that crossed the space of the left party in Argentina between 1955 and 1976.
