Abstract

After the Russian intervention in the Crimea crisis and the suspension of relations with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 2014, images of the cold war were re-enacted with political and military tension in large spaces territorial and maritime between both actors. This work seeks to analyze NATO's geopolitical positioning against Russia in the Mediterranean Sea between 2014-2015. For this, the strategies related to maximizing power and deterrent balance among the actors in question will be taken as a reference.
