The objective of this article is to investigate, comparatively, the practices that operate in the discursive construction of two local graphic media, around the processes of subjectivation of the victims of a case of institutional violence that occurred in the city of Rosario in the month of June 2017. To do this, we will relate three central variables: 1) the classification of the cases, 2) the socio-demographic characterization of the victims and 3) the role of the family. The work is the partial result of a four-year investigation (2018-2022), where we built a multivariate approach -with a total of eight dimensions addressed-, which guided the analysis of a corpus made up of more than 60 news items of three cases of institutional violence. -occurred in the period 2017-2019-, in three graphic media in the city of Rosario. In this work we propose a qualitative approach to the selected news about the Medina-Campos case, comparing the construction of the news in the newspaper La Capital and El Ciudadano -both from the city of Rosario- and trying to recognize there how they are classified and qualified. alterities, attributing to them, differentially, the conditions of being livable or killable.
