This paper aims to account for how external conditions are those that play decisively in the design of Argentina's Foreign Policy towards the Russian Federation. Relations with Russia are not new, but it was in the 21st century that they took a leap in quality until reaching a Comprehensive Strategic Association. This connection has been a constant in the different administrations.
The government of Alberto Fernandez had to link up with Russia in a complex external context. In 2020 and 2021 it was the Covid-19 Pandemic and in 2022 the start of the Russian-Ukrainian War. Based on this, this work aims to account for how the relationship with Russia was in these three years and how it changed in intensity according to external events.
