Abstract

Based on an anecdotal situation that occurred in a university, this essay seeks to reflect on the meaning of the social and human sciences in times of the Anthropocene. For this, a brief discussion is established around the anthropocentrist paradigm and the opposite paradigm of biocentrism. Subsequently, the thought of Aldo Leopold is recovered in his writing "The Land Ethic" from 1949, making it dialogue with the category of New Anthropocenic Subjectivities. The work closes with a brief thought about the work of the social and human sciences in the uncertain times that characterize this new era.
