SocLab is a virtual laboratory for the study of power relationships in social organizations and systems of organized action (Sibertin-Blanc et al., 2010, 2013) This paper describes a parameter calibration method by using “meta-narratives” and “rich pictures” diagrams. The calibration method will be exemplified in the context of an investigation on urban mobility in Ibagué, Colombia. As we will see, this method enriches the information gathering methods proposed by Sibertin (2010, 2013) which are based mainly on surveys. The method allows the development of a common language between stakeholders and researchers, facilitating a continuous dialogue both during the process of calibration and in the process of sharing with the stakeholders the outcomes of the simulations carried out by means of SocLab.
