Abstract

This paper begins by examining the question of what are the main reasons that allow us to label Peripheral Realism as a Foreign Policy Theory. Notwithstanding, in his work of 2012 Escudé claimed it was a Theory of International Relations. This is a matter we discussed in this paper. Second, we review the diagnosis by which Escudé made a description of Argentina’s situation at this time. The third section discusses the main cornerstones in the theory's development. Fourth, reviews together the proposal of the guidelines for action in foreign policy and the conceptual legacy. Finally, a global critical analysis and reflections on the works selected for this occasion are made.
